Dine Al Fresco at The Boathouse

Situated on Plymouth’s scenic waterfront, The Boathouse seafood restaurant is now open for outside dining, with some mouth-watering additions to the Spring menu.

The Boathouse’s speciality is local fish and shellfish, sustainably caught, by its own inshore day boats. The specials menu varies, depending on the catch that day, but it’s guaranteed to be caught locally and cooked to perfection. Boathouse firm favourites remain, such as succulent grilled sardines, with tomato and basil bruschetta, perfect washed down with a cold glass of Muscadet.

The Scallop Shack returns serving the freshest South West, scallops, in a variety of mouth-watering ways. Responsibly caught, the scallops are shucked, by local fishermen, prepared and cooked to order by expert seafood chefs. From chilli and lime to pea and mint purée, there’s a tempting taste combination for everyone on the Scallop Shack menu.

For the meat lovers, new to the menu, The Boathouse Surf and Turf is not to be missed, juicy sirloin steak, served with scallops, spinach, vine tomatoes and chips. Vegetarians and vegans will find delicious dishes on the menu and Little Nipper’s meals are specially designed for younger salty sea dogs – all made with fresh, seasonal produce.

Overlooking the Mayflower Steps, with wonderful harbour views, Mountbatten to the right and the mouth of the River Plym to the left, there’s always plenty to see on the water from The Boathouse as we enjoy coming back together for great food and celebrate a gradual return to normal.
