The Boathouse Cafe

From sea to boat, The Boathouse

serves up the freshest catch everyday

Inspired by the seafood eateries of France and Spain, The Boathouse chefs have created a simple, but delicious menu, using its very own catch, hauled from the surrounding, local waters. There’s seafood linguine, packed with mussels, clams and prawns and tossed in a creamy homemade sauce; smoked mackerel paté, with a horseradish kick, served with rustic toast and for the meat lovers, you’ll find traditional favourites, such as juicy flat iron steak, with all the trimmings. Specials vary, depending what’s in the net, but you can expect anything from monkfish curry, to pan fried seabass or lobster and fries.

The Scallop Shack at The Boathouse serves this sweet, flavoursome, South West delicacy in a variety of mouth-watering ways. A working unit, nestled within one of the fishermen’s arches at The Boathouse, The Scallop Shack is where the catch is delivered and the prep chefs wash and shuck each scallop, before being cooked to order. From chilli and lime to black pudding and apple or pea and mint purée, there’s a tempting taste combination for everyone.

For pre-dinner drinks, the rustic, beach style bar at The Boathouse is the perfect place, serving a wide selection of draught beers, local ales, specially selected wines and cocktails.

There’s also a selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes and a little nipper’s menu, designed for younger salty sea dogs – all made with fresh, seasonal produce. From daytime through to evening, The Boathouse is the top spot for meeting and dining with a view in Plymouth.
