Geddon Plymouth – Shop Local!

Geddon Plymouth, help us to support local retailers on the high street, that’s what we’re asking you to do as we launch our new campaign.

Focusing on the amazing characters behind some of Plymouth’s independent shops we’re asking you to join our cast of characters and shop locally.

Whether it’s supporting your local fishmonger, visiting a local café or browsing on the high street we’re asking you, the awesome people of Plymouth to geddon and enjoy what our city has to offer, and meet some of the great characters behind some of your favourite independents. Better yet, we want to help you discover the favourite places that you haven’t found yet!

Don’t forget, there’s more to do in Plymouth than just shopping, so you can make a day of it when you’re here. The city centre is home to some of the city’s best loved eateries which are now open, including AtKitchen in Plymouth Market, Moments Café, Steak & Omelette and Leandra Restaurant. And the waterfront is brimming with amazing places for you to enjoy everything from fresh seafood to locally made ice cream.

You can also enjoy Pub in the Piazza, the perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine and put your feet up during a busy day of retail therapy. There’s an open-air bar, picnic benches and street food stands to enjoy.

If you’re shopping with children you can follow the MonsterHero Safari to keep them entertained. There are 10 MonsterHeroes to find throughout the city centre until the 30 September, which you can track using contactless mobile technology. Once you’ve found them all, you’ll unlock a free e-book to enjoy together.  See visitplymouth.co.uk for more details.

For more family friend fun, head to Drake Circus – The Barcode where you can enjoy a game of indoor golf at Paradise Island Adventure Golf, which is the perfect rainy day activity when the weather’s not as appealing. The

12-screen Cineworld is also open, ready for you to watch some of the year’s biggest blockbusters.

To keep you safe, every business that has reopened has had to carry out a coronavirus risk assessment, reviewing all their procedures to make it as safe as possible. For the latest social distancing and face covering guidance please visit the Gov.uk website.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back, to shop safely on the high street. Visit our newly updated shop4plymouth.co.uk website to find out what shops are open and to meet some of our amazing cast of characters.
