It’s on record that the seafaring folk of Plymouth have enjoyed the retail therapy of a market since 1253 when the town was granted the right to hold one. Indeed, Henry VI sealed the deal by granting a Royal Charter in 1440 to the Mayor of Plymouth and Commonality for fairs, feasts and markets.
Located in Plymouth’s West End since 1959, we’re open six days a week: well everyone needs a little down-time! And to make your market experience even better you can park for up to an hour in our own dedicated car park for only £1.
70 sparkling years of diamonds, family and passion
We are incredibly proud to be a family run independent retailer in Plymouth. 2020 marks 70 years of Drakes and since the day the late Harry Hirshman first opened our doors, we have considered it a privilege to trade in Plymouth and help our customers find their perfect jewellery.
Since 1950 our values and ethos have always remained the same and our customers and team are at the heart of everything we do. It’s safe to say, we absolutely love what we do, playing a part in magical moments you will treasure for many, many years.
